Leprechaun Magic - Fast and Easy way to remove chalky effect of oxidation from fiberglass gel coat.
Some honest answers to questions we are often asked:
How Long does Leprechaun Magic (R) Last?
That depends on the environment and the condition of your gel coat.
Torrential rains wash it away sooner than a long dry spell. You can wipe it on, and, as the season progresses and spots of oxidation start to appear, you just wipe it back on. No elbow grease needed and you don't need a special applicator. It works on color, and glosses white. We have had customers tell us it lasts longer when they use a little more pressure to rub it in. It's not made to be permanent, just easy to apply, so you just wipe it in again when it wears off. If you have a very, very large boat, you may only want to put it on your bridge, or transom, because it's a re-apply it as needed product. It applies so easily, that it takes less time to apply than using products that require buffing.
What do we mean by All Natural?
This product contains no artificial chemicals or ingredients, or petroleum distillates or synthetics, whatsoever. In being environmentally conscious, Leprechaun Magic ingredients come only from renewable plants and natural waxes.
Do I have to take off previous wax before applying?
No, but... Leprechaun Magic doesn't have any solvents, so, it will not penetrate wax. It's effects just don't last as long as when it can't actually get to the oxidation on the gel coat.
Why shouldn't I wax after? What will happen if I do?
Well, you don't need to. It already has a surfer's wax, a bees wax. If you read the label on your wax container, you will most likely find the wax contains solvents and/or contain petroleum distillates. A haze appears when applying these waxes with those additives over Leprechaun Magic, because they don't blend well. Petroleum distillates and solvents just don't mix well with our natural ingredients and a hazy effect will most likely occur.
What does it do to the Gel coat?
You are not damaging it by taking away the material that makes it. You are applying a non-permanent, non toxic application that will not harm the gelcoat by taking away the material it is made of. You are not using an abrasive or solvent or anything that will cause damage to the surface of your boat or RV. The original gel coat is sanded at the factory, and should not need to be sanded again.
